Smoked Brisket

Story

Low and slow delivers a juicy, tender brisket!


Ingredients

  • 14 - 16 lb brisket

  • GRILL APPEAL

  • STEAK OUT

Equipment Needed

  1. Sharp knife

  2. Butcher Paper

  3. Smoker


Instructions

  1. Trim the excess fat and silver skin form the brisket. (Silver skin is a silver membrane)

  2. Season with a layer of Big D’s Q Grill Appeal, followed by a second layer of Big D’s Q STEAK OUT.

  3. Smoke at 250 degrees for about 6 hours. Then wrap with butcher paper.

  4. Smoke a couple more hours until 206 -208 (probe tender).

  5. Rest for 3 hours before serving.

 

Tips and Tricks

Brisket will be tender enough when you can stick the middle with a toothpick and bend the toothpick sideways without breaking the toothpick. If the toothpick breaks, the brisket needs to cook more.
